Here at Demand Engineering we are often involved in rebuild projects of one kind or another, and the states of ‘undress’ that cars are brought to us in, vary dramatically. We often get asked if we can collect a vehicle, for the exhaust to be made, as the vehicle isn’t road worthy. Sometimes the exhaust is the last thing to be thought of.
On Sunday the 24th May.
Such a brilliant turnout, and much fun had by all. Many thanks have to go to people who kindly lent us their cars to display on the stand, at one point a certain R32 was seen to be drawing a sizable crowd!
This delightful and iconic Lotus Cortina was brought in for a new exhaust to mate up with its reworked Twincam Engine. Bob Brown apparently bought this when he was 17, like I said “bleeding lucky 17 year old!” Needless to say the Ford Beauty was treated to some of our finest 304 Stainless, and what a pleasure it was to have in our workshops, Thanks Bob!
Here at Demand Engineering HQ, we are committed to pushing our business into the future. We’ve seen a few of these T25 Vw Campers in now, and like many owners Ricky Dorriety Cherishes his. His original exhaust was a combination of OEM parts from different vehicles, and was badly corroded. The process of removal was quite arduous, and we had two studs that snapped in the head. These were expertly dealt with by our bolt whisperer Paul, and replaced with Time-serts, a solution that we believe is far superior to the heli-coil type thread inserts. The Flanges were cut and the collector made in advance of the Job, and the exhaust system was crafted to be almost equal length, with a nice deep bass note. Ricky was very pleased with the Job, another Suffolkbugrs V-dub sorted by Demand. Continue reading
John Heyday’s 1950’s Chevy Pickup truck needed a custom exhaust. We love it when we get something out of the ordinary. Continue reading
